AccelerateIP is offering entrepreneurs in BC, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut up to $85,000 in combined IP support, with applications for Streams 2 and 3 closing June 15, 2026. Here's everything you need to know.

What is AccelerateIP?

AccelerateIP provides entrepreneurs and start-ups in BC, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut with access to education, skills development, and support for protecting, managing and leveraging their intellectual property (IP). This includes funding support for applicable IP services.

What are the Program Streams?

AccelerateIP is offered through three core streams:

  1. IP awareness and education

  2. Strategic IP guidance and access to IP strategy support, with up to $25,000 of costs to work with a registered service provider

  3. Support for execution on IP strategy implementation, with up to $60,000 of costs to work with a registered service provider

When are AccelerateIP Applications due?

AccelerateIP is currently accepting applications for Stream 2-2 and Stream 3, with applications closing for both streams on June 15, 2026. Start-ups are encouraged to get their applications in early.

What is needed for an AccelerateIP Application?

The AccelerateIP Application Process can be broken down into the following basic steps:

  1. Create an AccelerateIP account and validate your email address 

  2. Answer the eligibility questions 

  3. Find the program relevant to your start-up

  4. Complete the application form, including the initial IP assessment, and complete all tasks, including providing the IP quotation

  5. Submit and look out for updates
